In NACHTRAVEN, the young Anisa sneaks into the hospital where her father is and meets street youth Kofi, who decides to accompany her inside. It quickly becomes clear that nothing is as it seems, and reality stands in the shadows. Just like Anisa, we become trapped in a loop of thoughts. We discover how her guilt hijacks the farewell to her father, causing her to circle in her mind.

NACHTRAVEN is the first cinematic creation of the emerging filmmaker duo Claudia van Rooij and Vincent Fitz-Jim. In NACHTRAVEN, they explore how people become trapped in a loop of thoughts and the internal struggle to break free. They are fascinated by why people do what they do, but even more so by how their actions keep them stuck.
Vincent and Claudia draw strength from their shared ambition and personal experiences to craft stories with a distinct signature. Their collaboration revolves around creating films where everyday reality transforms into something magical and meaningful. In their narratives, they seek out the deep and mysterious aspects of life, striving to go beyond merely representing reality to create moments that offer solace.
By deliberately blurring the line between reality and imagination, they craft films that invite viewers not just to watch, but to feel, reflect, and pause for a moment to embrace the complexity of our inner world.

in conclusion
NACHTRAVEN is produced by FitzRooij, a casual production company by Claudia and Vincent. The film is financed through crowdfunding and in-kind contributions. We managed to realize this film without an extensive crew, but with a tiny team of incredibly enthusiastic friends. We are eternally grateful to them for supporting us in this night owl endeavor.
